I finally made my first loan payment in addition to my monthly payments! Yay! I got my first check from Lia Sophia and I used $100 from my first check to make an additional payment. :) So, now for my monthly update on how my loans are going.
Monthly payment amount
Student loan 1 7,817.89 20.00
Student loan 2 32,296.35 346.08
Student loan 3 11,593.25 25.00
Student loan 4 10,093.86 110.00
The rest
Student loan 5 2,540.02 (extra payment) 50.00
Student loan 6 7,242.90 90.00
Total student loans: $71,584.27 and the month total is $631.19.
And the credit cards:
Credit Card 1: 99.47
Credit Card 2: 732.46 (I went on another business trip so I will be getting reimbursed on my next check)
Credit Card 3: 177.87
So there it is. They are moving down and I'm really excited that they are starting to move. In case you are wondering why I chose the smallest loan to pay extra on, it's because I want to get it done and over with. Once it is paid off I can add the additional $40 a month and put it towards my biggest loan. I think it is a pretty good plan considering my biggest loan doesn't have the highest interest rate. I want to pay off the smallest loan and then the second smallest loan before I start adding my Lia Sophia payments towards it.
Another wonderful is that my income taxes are done already and I'm waiting for my refund check! I can't wait. I'm supposed to get around $2,000 back and I'm not sure what to do with it. I have a few choices:
- Scuba Certification
- Tori Burch shoes
- Snowboard, boots and bindings
These are the things I'm thinking about currently. I'm only going to get one of the three. The scuba certification is something that I've always wanted but never had the money to do. I love scuba diving, but currently I don't go on many vacations. The Tori Burch shoes would be the cheapest and probably the best investment. I heard they are really comfy. Or I could always get a pair of Sam Edleman flats instead which are even cheaper. I am planning on making a $500 payment on my loan and saving the rest. If you have any thoughts let me know!
