The 5's

My friend from Alexis http://karmoose.blogspot.com/ taught me about this nifty idea I'm going to try out.

Since this is a blog about my financial struggles and what I'm doing to overcome student loans I'm going to try an experiment. I titled this blog the 5's because it is all about $5 bills. Using cash can help to cut down extra spending because you can physically see the money leaving your hands. At least that is how it is for me.  I hate breaking a $20 because it goes so much quicker.

So you ask, what the heck does this have to with $5 bills? I will try to use cash more often and save the $5 bills. They bills are supposed to add up fairly quickly. I am going to put this to the test and try it out.

The challenge:
Save $5 bills for 1 year.

Oh boy. We will see how this goes. I will keep you guys posted in between each of my loan posts on how my 5's are coming along.

Oh and just a little snippet of information about myself I also like to save my change. At the end of the day I empty out all the change in my wallet and put it in a mason jar until it gets full. Then I wrap it and save it. I have about $35 currently from last year but I will continue to save my change for the next year unless I have a reason to spend it. It never hurts to go shopping :). (Well it kind of does when you're writing a journal about getting financial freedom, but heck I'm still a 23 year old girl who loves her shoes)!
