For Christmas my step-mom bought me Aveda's Outer Peace, it's a foaming face wash. You can get it from Nordstrom for $26. It is very lightweight. It does have a floral smell because it is all natural. I loveee the smell of it. I was taken aback by it when I first used it because I don't think I've ever had a face wash smell so nice before. I've have the citrus ones before, which I do like but this so far is my favorite.
Like I said I've been using it since Christmas. When I first started to use it, I was using it twice a day everyday. I have really oily skin so usually by the middle of the day my skin is usually back to being oily. Since starting to use Aveda's Outer Peace my skin has been a LOT better. I am in love with this face wash. The first week when I was using it twice a week my face was a lot smoother after only 2 days and after a monthy my pores have gotten smaller, my skin has been the best in a long time.
When I was in high school and even college, I went to the dermatologist on a regular basis to get an acne treatment on my skin. I got peels, poked, popped, treated, if they had it I tried it. My skin has gotten better with the help of birth control as well as age. Playing sports wasn't the best for my skin either. After a game I would sit on the bus or car ride home and let the sweat sit on my skin...not the best idea.
As I was saying I used it twice a day for a little while but then my skin started to feel like it did when using other facial cleansers. It would get dry and tight after washing. So then after washing I would use Aveda's Out Peace Acne Relief lotion, you can also get it from Nordstrom for $40. It would help my skin but it would still be dry and kind of flaky. So since then I have cut down to once a day at night. I chose to wash my face at the end of the day for multiple reasons: I workout in the evening, your face gets dirty all throughout the night, and it still feels clean in the morning and all day the next day when I get up.
I high recommend if you have oily skin or if you have ever had a problem with your skin, give Aveda's Outer Peace a try! Trust me I've tried it all. From store bought products, to Clinique, to dermatologist appointments and even Proactive. I gotta say I love this stuff.
