Review of Wen Hair Conditioning Treatment

My boyfriends mother lovesss QVC and she recently purchased 5 bottles of Wen hair care. She loves it and she gave me the open bottle to try it out. She gave me the pumpkin spice scent. I'll admit, I know I'm a rarity among the recent pumpkin craze but I'm not a fan of pumpkin, but I decided to give it a try anyways.

First off, when using Wen you have to use a LOT of it and I mean a lot! I have thick hair that is just about mid-back. The directions say to use about 30-36 pumps - yes actual full pumps. For best results rinse your hair really well and then use about half the recommended pumps for the first wash, massaging thoroughly throughout your hair, pin up your hair and leave in for the rest of the shower. When you rinse it make sure you wash it really well and massage your scalp. And then repeat the process but without letting sit this time. Basically, my shower doubled in length because of how long I had to wash my hair for.

My hair was really soft after using it and it wasn't frizzy. Now, I'll admit I'm probably not the best person to use this on because my hair is not naturally frizzy, curly, tangly, thinning, dry and it is very soft normally. Typically, my after shower routine consists of Garnier Fructis leave in conditioner, you can get from Target at $2.99 (leaves my hair so soft) and then Paul Mitchell's Super Skinny, which you can get at Target $21 (love the way it smells and a little goes a long way).

If you have soft healthy hair with no frizz I wouldn't recommend shelling out all the cash for something that isn't going to do much for your hair. Yes, it might be better because of less chemicals. I'll admit I don't know what is going on here on a chemical reaction level and how it is affecting my hair but from a consumer standpoint I certainly don't feel the need to spend the extra money for my hair. But, my boyfriends mother loves it. Her hair is frizzier and thinning and she has noticed a difference in the texture of her hair (I've felt it and it was really soft). Her hair normally isn't as soft or as shiny and it did help. For me I think I'll stick to my super skinny and leave in conditioner for now.
