One of my good friends from high school is getting married this summer so all of the bridesmaids got together on Friday with a bottle of wine and some crafts for the wedding shower and got to work. It ended up being a good time reminiscing and events when we were younger and dumber while obviously creating new memories. Nothing big, nothing crazy but it was still really nice just hang out with friends. We settled on a few things for the wedding shower and we came to the conclusion that I have no specialty cooking skills (aside from baking, which some girl already snatched up desserts) and I would be bringing pretzels and punch. Haha! So much pressure!
Oh this part is important to note. Thursday night a few friends went out to the bar. Though I stopped drinking early I still managed to do something very stupid that I never thought I would ever do.
This is important to know because I had to use my iPod everywhere and hope that there would be wifi so I could Facebook message people. Apparently, people don't check that nearly as much as their texts though. So, I headed out for the night to celebrate my best friend turning 24 and realized yet again I suck at bowling. Awesome. But it was still a good time. We went back to a friends house and proceeded to play beer pong, eat some awesome popcorn - which I decided it would be a great idea to put on pizza, I was right - enjoy some s'mores and some laughable music. (I'm not a fan of Disney music to rock out to for the night).
Sunday, I helped my parents work on our deck. My dad took it apart a few weeks ago to rebuild it and it was finally starting to come together. I got to spend some time in the sun, help out my parents and get a weird sunburn. Note to self, when you go to spray your shoulder blades make sure you get all of your shoulders not just where you think you'll burn. Now it looks like I have wings from my sunburn (but I'm pretty sure it's gone already).
The boyfriend came over around 4ish which we then decided to go out to dinner, since we haven't done that in forever, and go see The Great Gatsby. I liked the movie but I feel like it was a bit overdone where it didn't need to be. I never had to read the book like most people did so I didn't have that childhood connection to the story but I did think it was tragically beautiful. Yup, that's what I'm stickin with.Monday is now here and I just wanted to mention that it is my best friends birthday officially today and I'm happy to spend another birthday as her friend. She always pushes me to be better, do better and be myself (no matter how annoying). I love you and I thank you for being such a great friend throughout these years! Thank you for befriending my awkward ass at volleyball practicing and for trying to find me when I wondered away at parties during college. :) I hope it is a memorable day, even though your working in the cube right next to me. :D
