We headed to a place in downtown Milford that was alright. The guys were ranting and raving about how amazing the breadsticks were and how great the food was but really I didn't find anything special about it. I wouldn't go out of my way to go eat there again. While we were there though, the Red Wings were playing in game 6. I gave up watching the Wings during the playoffs because when I watched they lost, BUT they lost when I wasn't watching which meant that I was allowed to watch that night and THEY WON! They went onto game 7 and beat the ducks to take them into round 2 to play for the last time in the playoffs against the Blackhawks. Seems fitting right? Love it! I'm excited if you didn't get that. :D
Saturday we had an early day because we had to drive about an hour to get to Ypsilanti for the Color Run! It was my second time doing it and I certainly plan on participating again next year. Words of wisdom to anyone who will be participating in the near future; take a bandana and sunglasses and also dress for the weather - prepare for the weather in advanced! It was freezing but I didn't bother to look at the weather prior and I had to wear my favorite Nike zip-up because I didn't have anything else and it, well, it got stained. I went with my best friend, her boyfriend and my boyfriend and we all cruised through the race and I wish one of us had the brains to track our time! Silly us.
We got photobombed hard.
Our boogers were green. Ew.
Orange is my favorite color and when it came around no one with throw color on me! I finally starting asking them to throw the color and I got stupid little dribbles. Come on people, give a girl a break! My desperate self decided it would be a good idea to barrel roll through the orange on the ground and at the last second I realized I was actually diving into concrete and I made the last minute decision to go from sprawling (thank you years of volleyball) to a barrel roll. It was perfection, until later when I realized that I got my self a wonderful bruise on my knee and my spine. Joy.
It is has become a tradition to go to a Coney Island afterwards to some delicious treats and it's always entertaining because of all of the staring we get from people. I love it. I really do. People whisper and stare. Few will ask but most just stare. It's hilarious.
The name of this post is roller coaster because all the stuff was great. I had a blast with my weekend so far. Until, we got to the bar later that night for a good time. The night started out great, but took a turn for the worse when my boyfriend decided to get a little too drunk. Not realizing his tolerance was much lower than it was in college, I was taking care of a puking child by the end of the night. He felt bad. Groveled all morning. And you bet he is paying for like the next 5 dates. :)
Sunday was freezing! The weather could not have been worse for Mother's day. It was sleeting while we worked on our deck and down poured sleet at one point. My brother and I spoiled the crap out of my mom, which I loved but I also couldn't afford to do, but did it anyway. Oops. We got my mom perfume that she wanted, CK One Summer (I want to steal it, it smells wonderful), a gift card to Kirklands, dinner at Red Lobster and flowers. My momma was a happy happy lady.
I have the greatest mom and I am thankful everyday to have her in my life. She not only gave me life but did the best she could to make her life and the life of her kids better. She protected us from a lot, went through a ton and gave me everything I could have ever ask for. Thank you mom. I love you and you are the most amazing woman.
It was a great weekend mixed in with a little bit of shitty. I guess it wasn't that big of a roller coaster. I could have appropriately named it the mini roller coaster. What's that mini one at Cedar Point? That one. Don't drink beyond your limits people! It's not fun for the person that has to hold your hair back.
