Getting Organized

Obviously I have a lot of loans and I'm not just talking about the amount. I have a few of my loans that are consolidated and it helps to keep the total number of loans more simplified but it still gets confusing because they aren't all on the same website. I kept trying to make my own excel spreadsheet but I couldn't get it to look the way I wanted.

I finally found one on Pinterest that I liked but it was still not exactly what I was looking for but at least it was a start. The one I found is link here. I love what she came up with but some of the stuff I don't want on it but you can if you want to. I decided not to do a printed on, for now, since I've been making extra payments on my loans. Keeping a digital record of the loans allows me to add in extra rows for the extra payments and see where I'm at after each payment. That way I don't have to update it just at the end of the month.

I also like using excel because I added extra sheets for each of my loans. Every month when I write an update I break it down to my 6 loans (some are consolidated and I left a side note on each of those to know how much the loan was and what the interest rate was for each), using Excel allows me to break down each loan individually and see each on really quickly. At the end of the year I plan to print each of the pages off and put them in a binder so I can keep track of what I paid for, for the year.

It isn't New Year's any more and people are really doing resolutions at this time but you don't need a new year to try to change your life. My new resolution is to try and become more organized in most all areas of my life. I've never been very good at it but I'll give it a shot. It has always bothered me that I'm not very organized but heck it has always worked for me as well. Wish me luck!
